GoGo Goes to Work @ Elise Gug This collection was all about feminine lines and simple details. If Jackie O. traded her pill box hat for a stiletto this would be her collection. High-waisted pants and A-line skits paraded in the essential colors for the modern working girl - white, camel and grey respectively. The days of free love have ended so it seems only fitting that shirt dresses and sheaths have grown a few inches closer to the knee. In this collection the sheath is was a key piece – seen in all colors - if you are meeting your mother-in-law this is the collection for the cause. Respectable, fashionable, polished with attention to simple details and clean lines. The show ended with A-line day dresses blooming like spring flowers in yellow, green, nude and peach. The color is unexpected and the design details are genius, I loved all of them. [see the show on Copenhagen Fashion Week TV]
Black & White Lux 4 Lady Tux @ Jens Laugesen We begin pitch black, the first 30 seconds beg you to focus with music renascent of a dream sequence in a movie - cue lights. Much like a futuristic minimalist dream the electric blue lights frame the first girl wearing an oversized white tuxedo vest with matching skirt over black slim leg pants. A fitting introductions to a black and white collection with a focus on luxurious looking cloths. I loved the slim black pants with just enough shine. The finish gives a rich couture look and feel not to be confused with the overdone almost metallic ‘call girl’ shine currently plaguing street fashion.
As the show progressed the music went from dream sequence to rock. The rebellious guitar fit perfectly with white party dresses, dashiki inspired tops and sheer black tops that seemed to say ‘ I’m a choir girl turned vixen …… and I’m Loving it!’ My very favorite piece came last as a sexy fallen angel in a bottom sheer black dress ended the show. [see the show on Copenhagen Fashion Week TV]
